Beauty and the Beast Movie Review

Hello my fellow book lovers!

I am coming to you today with something that isn't super book related, but that I feel is necessary to write about anyway.

I am a book lover, you are a book lover, we are all book lovers. Among our fellow book lovers lives a certain Disney character by the name of Belle. And her story sure as hell deserves to be written about.

Clearly, I just saw Beauty and the Beast in theaters and I am so thankful for whatever god(s) you do or don't believe in that I did!

I am ashamed to admit that before this week, I had never seen the original version of this movie. I know, I know, the shame. But as the book and Disney lover that I am, it immediately became my favorite Disney movie. Little did I know that it was going to be one upped by its 2017 remake.

This movie spoke to me on so many different levels. First of all... Belle is my spirit animal (even though she is not the animal in this production). I want to be everything that she is, and with my love for reading, I feel like I am at least half way there. And of course the fact that Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger, plays Belle makes it even better.

What I also loved about this movie is that it stuck very closely to the original. There were a few things here and there that were different, but they were very welcome changes. Such great humor was added to the storyline along with the characters backstories. I loved hearing about what brought them to where they are during the movie. The background information really added to the story and made me even more fond of the characters and plot.

I was laughing, smiling, and on the verge of tears all throughout this movie. I am so glad I got to see this - for free I might add - and I hope that you do too. It's always great to see a remake done right.

HAPPY READING 📚
